Q: I noticed that you all are very thorough in your proposal and would like to know why you estimate certain disciplines of work?
A: This is a great question and one that we are very glad you asked. We want to be very thorough so that you are aware of exactly what it will entail to complete your project. This is why we are different from other contractors who might spring it on you mid-project or simply do not complete the work or do it poorly to get out of the project as fast as possible. In our 18 years of constructing and maintaining landscapes, there are inevitably some items that are job specific variables concerning the conditions of each client’s landscape. We need to make you aware that these variables may play a role in your project and we want to be forthright with the information at the time we compile your proposal. Sometimes each estimated discipline of work does not have to be implemented and sometimes it does. That is precisely why we try and give you, the client, every possible scenario at the time we estimate the job. The worst case scenario is usually the discovery of inferior work that must be addressed to insure your investment is repaired with the best materials available for your long term benefit. If we know for certain we are going to need to address particular aspects we will give you the best quote we can with that information.
